Welcome to Union County Fire Department. Union County Fire Department is located in one of the northern most counties at the foot hills of Bald Mountain, the highest point in GA. The Fire Department is under the direction of EMA Director/County Fire Chief Charles Worden. The department is a combination of paid and volunteer. We have 12 full-time and about 80 volunteers who respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Union County Fire Department Mission Statement

 

The mission of the Union County Fire Department is to be recognized as one of the best fire services in the country by the protection and preservation of the lives and property of the citizens of Union County.

 

Goals and Objectives
 
PUBLIC PERCEPTION
 
To conduct all aspects of our business under the highest standards of ethics, morality, and fiscal responsibility while, striving to maintain an equitable balance among the needs of the individual members, the organization, and the community that we serve.
 
PUBLIC EDUCATION
 
To reduce the risk of death, injury, and property destruction by fire through education of our community’s citizens, business managers, and property owners of the fire and safety hazards within their domain.
 
OPERATIONS
 
To efficiently organize the department’s resources in order to assure a timely response and an effective emergency operation.
 
TRAINING
 
To consistently improve the knowledge, skills, and abilities, of the department personnel at all levels of the organization, in order to improve the effectiveness of service to the community.
 
ADMINISTRATION
 
To maintain an efficient program of administration and information management to provide the organization with the ability to make appropriate decisions that will work toward the achievement of the organization’s mission statement.
